Global Shapers are driven young people between the ages of 18 and 27 who are committed to creating positive change in their cities. Our members come from all walks of life: engineers, educators, entrepreneurs, and creatives, united by a shared passion for meaningful impact. Membership is entirely voluntary and requires roughly 10 hours of engagement per week.
Who Can Apply?
- Youth aged between 18 and 27
- Based in or connected to Jeddah
- Strong communication skills in English or Arabic
- Genuinely passionate about community-driven change

Process
How It Works
Apply
Submit your application with your background, interests, and motivation to join. Applications open in one or two cycles per year, aligned with the hub's annual vision.
Screening
Our team reviews applications within the cycle window. We may reach out with follow-up questions or additional steps.
Interview
Shortlisted candidates are invited for a conversation with hub members to explore alignment and fit.
Welcome
Successful applicants join as Guest Shapers: a structured probation period. After completing the evaluation, they advance to full Shaper membership with all its rights and responsibilities.

Common questions from applicants
No. Membership is entirely voluntary and free. The only expectation is your time and genuine commitment, roughly 10 hours a week, to the hub and its initiatives.
You should be based in or closely connected to Jeddah, since most gatherings, workshops, and initiatives happen in person here. If you're relocating to the city soon, mention that in your application.
Around 10 hours a week on average, split between hub meetings, community events, and active work on at least one project or initiative. It varies by season and by what you choose to lead.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis within each cycle. After screening, shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview, and successful applicants join as Guest Shapers for a probation period before full membership.
Yes. We look for genuine passion, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to contribute, not a resume. Many of our most active Shapers started with no prior leadership experience and grew into it here.
