Newsletter: when you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed.

Contact form: when you send us a message, we store your name, email address, subject, and message content so we can reply to you.

Hub Activity and workshop registrations: when you register for a Hub Activity or workshop, we store your answers to the registration form, along with your name and email address if you choose to provide them, so organizers can plan the event and follow up with you.

Initiative and impact content: initiative pages, impact reports, and blog posts published through the site may include names, photos, and project details submitted by Shapers and curators.

Automatically collected data: we use small amounts of local browser storage to remember your language and theme preference, to show the welcome screen only once per visit, and to let you like a blog post using an anonymous, randomly generated identifier that is not linked to your real identity.

Applying to become a Global Shaper is handled entirely by the World Economic Forum on its own application platform, external to jeddahhub.org. When you click "Apply Now," you leave our site. We do not receive, store, or process the information you submit on that form. It is governed by the World Economic Forum's own privacy practices, not this policy.

We use the information above to send the newsletter you subscribed to, respond to messages sent through the contact form, organize Hub Activities and workshops you register for, and maintain the security and basic functioning of the site.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We use functional local storage rather than tracking cookies: your saved language and theme preference, a flag so the welcome animation shows once per visit, and an anonymous identifier if you like a blog post. None of this is used to track you across other websites.

We rely on a small number of service providers to operate the site: Google Firebase for our database and infrastructure; Google reCAPTCHA to protect our contact form from automated abuse; and a transactional email provider to deliver the newsletter welcome email. Each of these providers processes data on our behalf and maintains its own privacy and security practices.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers described above, to the extent needed to operate the site, and if required to comply with a legal obligation or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Jeddah Hub or others.

We keep newsletter, contact form, and activity registration data for as long as needed to serve their purpose, or until you ask us to remove it.

To unsubscribe from the newsletter or request that we delete personal information we hold about you, contact us using the details below and we will act on your request promptly.

Jeddah Hub is a Global Shapers Community hub for young people generally between 18 and 27 years old. Our site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls provided by our infrastructure providers, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Jeddah Hub is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Because we use global infrastructure providers, your information may be processed in other countries. We take steps to ensure it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection wherever it is processed.

The Jeddah Hub name, logo, and the design, graphics, and text of this site belong to Jeddah Hub or its licensors, except for content submitted by Shapers and curators (such as blog posts, initiative pages, and impact reports) and third-party marks such as the Global Shapers Community and World Economic Forum names. This policy governs how we handle personal information; it does not grant any rights to reuse or copy the site's content, which are addressed in our Terms of Use.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site or our practices. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
